I have had these Lacoste shoes for almost six years now and have worn them twice. I loved them when I saw them (for $20 at Marshalls) and bought them. Everyone else hated them, my mother, my sister, my cousin. I have always had a hard time styling them. I was scared to take risks. Then I saw this post on Saucy Glossie. I was inspired, and kind of stole the look . Thank you Lindsey for the insperation!

bright & trendy

Trend Alert: maxi dresses and maxi skirts! I'm loving some of the current trends in womans fashion. I have never been a big skirt wearer, but trends are leading towards femininity, and skirts are a big part of that. It's growing on me, big time! As I said in a previous post I am also loving the bright color trend. I must say as well, we have been very lucky in New England. Last January (2011) I would not have been able to get away with an outfit like this. I would have been burried under layers and layers of heavy fabrics - Oh the joys of living in Boston!

What are your favorite current fashion trends?

freedom ride

Jacket: Kenneth Cole Shirt: Harley Davidson Pants: Reebok Easy Tone (get them here) Boots: Lauren by Ralph Lauren Bag: Unknown Shades: Ray Ban Limited Edition Jewelry:  Fresh water pearls, Tiffany's, Cape Cod & Unknown

Reebok Easy Tone Pants are the best pants I have ever purchased. I wear them for everything, I mean absolutely everything. I work out in them, I wear them with riding boots, I wear them for a night out. Basically, I live in these pants. They are the perfect do it all pant! I suggest these for everybody. On another note, I love riding gear. This is my usual gear for jumping on the back of the Harley and enjoying a ride. And let me tell you, there is nothing like the freedom you feel when your riding down the highway in that open air!

i could say what you want

It has been a long week. I couldn't think of a post title so I stole the title of the song I am currently listening to. It is called I Could Say What You Want (ICSWYW) by The Hill and Wood. Their self-titled debut album is addicting, I cannot stop listening. The vocal styling of their lead singer/songwriter and my personal friend, Mr. Sam Bush, are sincerely enchanting and take you on a whirlwind passionate journey. (And he's quite handsome, so that doesn’t hurt.) I suggest giving them a listen. Get their album here or on iTunes and check out their Facebook page here.

it's raining menswear

Sweater: Land's End Pants: Badgley Mischka Jacket: Kenneth Cole Scarf: Hollister Hat: Diesel Bag: Lucky Brand Shoes: Steve Madden Watch: Michael Kors Necklace: Costume Pearls (thrift find) Earrings: Frost (TJ Maxx)

I have this strange obsession with menswear. When shopping I'm drawn to the pieces that are inspired by menswear. Here is my issue though - I feel like woman’s pieces that are inspired by menswear never look as they should. It is very hard to find pieces that fit my small frame well, but still look very menswear inspired. Needless to say this look was inspired by menswear. When styling I usually pick one piece that I am desperate to wear that day and style around it. This look was styled around that wonderful Fedora hat. (I forced my father to purchase it for me when I was 14. I HAD to have it!)

All of the photos from recent posts where taken at my friend’s apartment building. It is an old shoe factory and I am in love with the entire building. It has such a great feel and I love this exposed brick.   This jacket was a must have as soon as it caught my eye in the store. It came as a suit - I didn’t love the pants but purchased the entire suit anyways. If you live on the south shore of Massachusetts, Designer Consigner is a store you must check out.

Safari Safari

Jacket: Kenneth Cole Shirt: Tommy Hilfiger Pants: Miss Me (found at Designer Consigner, Hingham, MA) Shoes: Steve Madden Bag: Monserat De Lucca (TJ Maxx find) Watch: Michael Kors Shades: Unknown Necklace: Unknown

Something in my brain always seems to theme my outfits. Though it may not look like it as much in these pictures, when I put this outfit on I felt like I was going on a Safari (hence the post title.) I found these pants at a local thrift store (where I happen to always find some awesome pieces.) I always try to find an excuse to wear them, though they are not always practical. While we are on the topic of practicality – shoes, make sure you are thinking practically when purchasing shoes. These shoes, though they don’t look like practical 5 inch stilettos, are the most comfortable pumps I own. I highly suggest them.

Purple Passion

Dress: Tart Jacket: Tulle Tights: Cynthia Rowley Shoes: Nine West Shades: Marc by Marc Jacobs (TJ Maxx find)
Necklace: Vintage Hamilton Pocket Watch Bracelets: Cape Cod, Unknown Watch: Men's Elgin (from my father)

Purple is one of my favorite color's to wear as a pop of color or just to wear in general! I love using tights like these to add a touch of funk to any outfit. Color and crazy patterns are great for that! I bought this dress in late fall. It was a great purchase looking at the upcoming trends for this spring- COLOR COLOR COLOR! It was on sale too! Tip: When shopping, look to purchase items that are easily layered and can transfer easily from season to season.
